Alright... apparently there seem to be some people freaking out about this Orphaned Works Legislation (I was too), but we need to check the facts before we jump to conclusions. I'm not even saying that I know the true story behind all of this either, but those interested might want to check out this article (which also has many helpful links included) [link] If this article is correct, then we are completely misunderstanding what "Orphaned Works" actually are. They are not [artwork, songs, writings, etc] that have not been officially registered with copyrights. Orphaned Works are [artwork, songs, writings, etc] to which no original artist/writer/photog. can be found. Read the article... it fully explains it (of course, this is assuming that THIS article is correct). Basically, what I'm saying is that it seems as though all of us were too quick to jump to conclusions about this whole issue. We need to stop believing everything we read online and do our research. So yeah... don't freak out yet. It seems there is much more to find out.
aaaaand, I'm out!
