Dr. Man-Boy's Sing-A-Long Haunt & Fundraiser

With our freeze-rays, we will rule this Halloween... and kick cancer's butt!

The Man-Boys are throwing an early Halloween Party at Metropolis Comics. Why on Wednesday? It's the best day of the week to hang out at a comics store. The party is a sing-a-long because of our love of Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog... Moon and Brett are even dressing as the Doc & Capt. Hammer. We'll have DH playing the whole time, as well as costume contests: Best Costume, Best Man-Boys Costume, and best Dr. Horrible Supporting Character (be creative here... Moist, Bad Horse Chorus, Pink Pummeler, maybe Bad Horse himself).

Also, we'll be signing copies of our brand new Man-Boys collection book and our new "Dia De Los Man-Boys" prints. Now usually, sketches are free at our signings, but this time we're fighting for a cause as well. Sketches will start at $1 (sketch card) and go up from there depending on the size of the art you want... really, no limit. ALL money from sketches will be donated to help a very close Man-Boys Family member in his battle with cancer. Come help Darrell's dad... he's fighting hard, but anything helps. All proceeds from the sale of Ed Comics prints/posters will also go to the cause.

Pass it on and I hope you can make it!

-Brett

Then submit a pin up piece of ManBoys (www.drunkduck.com/ManBoys) art. We're going to print by Thursday (April 30) and we're looking for a couple of pin-ups to go in the book. We're looking for different takes on the main Characters (Panda, Moon, Brett, Darrell, Jen&Crystal, Darlene&Rose, George Takei) preferably in your own style... just keep the clothes the same.

Feel free to post the art here on DA but also e-mail full res versions to EdComicsOnline@gmail.com

And in other related news, the Man-Boys/S.P.a.Z. crew will be signing practically all day at Metropolis Comics in Bellflower, CA for Free Comic Book Day on May 2nd. If you're in the area, swing on by, pick up some swag, and check out the new stuff we're offering that day... and free sketches!

*edit- To answer a few questions:

You do not have to draw the characters limb-less as they are in the strip. It would still be funny if you do though.

Please send you images as 300dpi jpgs.

Please have the images to me by Thursday morning at the latest (April 30), let's say by Noon PST. That's a nice even time.

Yes, you can make us look smarter than we are (especially Darrell).

From a LexusWolf's journal:

"I don't normally do this sort of thing, but this situation hit a little too close to home..
Last Monday there were two fires in Southern California. One of them destroyed the home of one of our dearest teachers here at CalArts. Cornelius Cole lost all of his artwork and all of his pets in this fire. Corny has had such a terrible stroke of luck this year.. he took a bad fall during the summer and broke his hip and both of his wrists, and to top it all off, it was his birthday the day of the fire. This man has touched so many lives, and has helped countless people throughout the years. This is truly a tragedy and we're all pretty devastated.
CalArts has provided him housing for the time being and they've set up a donation fund to help him. If you'd like to contribute a few dollars I know it would mean the world to him.. and all of us.
The whole story is here on Cartoon Brew-[link] "
